WE CARE WARSAW

2022

The annual We Care Warsaw event drew an impressive attendance of 1,135 individuals, comprising 845 members from the community and 290 dedicated volunteers from the church. This year, the event showcased the remarkable generosity of the Warsaw community, raising over $34,000 in goods and services to bless and encourage friends and neighbors. Notable contributions included 313 bottles of laundry detergent, $6,310 in gift cards, close to 300 toys for the Christmas store, and 130 family photo sessions - the most ever recorded at We Care Warsaw. Additionally, the event featured an almost record-high number of hairstylists/barbers, 302 bags of groceries provided by World Compassion Network, free health screenings including 120 flu shots from the Northern Indiana Hispanic Health Coalition, and generous support from Grace College in the form of free rentals for the Rec Center and bounce houses. The meal preparation was expertly handled by James Bloemendaal and Grace College Sodexo Food Service. Furthermore, approximately 40 of the 290 volunteers were new members of the church since last year's event, highlighting the growth and involvement of the community. Special recognition was given to the top eight heroes, including Vicky Scantlen, Nolan Ryan, Byron Hahn, Isaac Lee, Steve Barrett, Scott Schneider, Betsy Ray, Bill Henthorn, and the dedicated setup and cleanup teams who made We Care Warsaw a remarkable success.

Matthew 5 14-16      “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

WE CARE WARSAW

2021

Thank you WL for your generosity this year at We Care Warsaw 2021! Generosity is one word we love to use to describe our church family!

We gave away 511 bottles of laundry detergent, $5,600 in gift cards, 300 toys for the Christmas store, hundreds of family photos, and more! We had 280 volunteers from the church family to help out, so thank you!

What a fantastic way to show God's love to our neighbors. We had 590 people visit, and because of you we were able to love all of them well! Way to go, WL!

WE CARE WARSAW

2020

The 13th Annual We Care Warsaw in 2020 had to be redesigned and offered as a drive-through event due to COVID-19.

We were happy to be able to bless 325 families with groceries, laundry detergent, and gift cards. Even more significantly, we were able to pray with each family at the 2020 We Care Warsaw Drive-Thru.

At its peak, over 400 vehicles were in line in the church parking lot as well as circling Kings Highway, 13th Street, College Avenue, and Rupe Drive.

The generous donations of gift cards, valuing $6,000, more than doubled the average amount in previous years. The quantity of items in the grocery bags donated by World Compassion Network was doubled this year with funds from our church's We Care Warsaw account.

Thank you to everyone who provided donations and to the 60+ volunteers who served in-person during the weekend, as together "we allowed these good deeds to shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise our heavenly Father" (Matthew 5:16).

WE CARE WARSAW

2019

Thank you to everyone who helped this year at We Care Warsaw 2019! We had 1,215 guests who attended from our community, 377 volunteers from the church family who served, and many other volunteers from the community who participated.

We were able to provide numerous amounts of gifts to our community this year, such as 1,000 full-course hot turkey meals, 300 bags of groceries (one bag per family - provided by World Compassion Network), 250 bottles of laundry detergent, $3,250 in various gift cards, 175 haircuts, 247 family photos, 388 toys and educational materials for kids, 36 gift baskets, health screenings, and more.

Without your generosity, we would not have been able to provide for our community in this way, so thank you for your generosity! Let us praise God for his love and provision.
